The Ivory Edit
Forty things in the colour of good light. Objects and materials chosen for what they feel like rather than what they cost.
Undyed linen cushion cover
Washed three times before sale, so the surface has already done the work of becoming itself. Square, 50×50cm, no zip or button — plain envelope back. The kind of object that improves with every subsequent wash.
Unglazed stoneware vessel
Wide mouth, no decoration, straight walls that taper slightly at the base. Made in a small workshop in the Alentejo region, from local clay fired at high temperature. The surface has a very slight grain that catches light from below.
Beeswax pillar candle
Narrow proportion, slow-burning wick, pale amber colour that reads as ivory in most light conditions. The scent is faint and natural — not a fragrance decision, simply the material being honest about what it is.
Woven cotton throw
In the palette of unbleached cotton — not white, not cream, but the colour of cotton before it has been touched by anything. Tight plain weave, substantial weight. Designed to be used on a bed or sofa rather than displayed.
Linen napkins, set of four
Pre-washed, mitre-corner hemmed, no embroidery or monogram. The kind that improves through use and requires only air drying to be presentable. In the natural linen tone — warm, slightly beige, not the cool white of paper.
Ceramic soap dish
Flat, with low rim and three small drainage feet. Unglazed exterior, matte white interior glaze. The proportions are generous enough to hold a bar of soap without crowding it. Nothing on it to read or admire — just a surface that does its job honestly.
Linen shower towel
In natural undyed linen — faster drying and more durable than cotton, with a slight texture that softens after the first three washes. Large enough to use properly. The fringe at the short ends is part of the weave, not applied.
Pale oak tray
Rectangular, with very low sides — almost flush with the surface, just enough to contain. Untreated oak in a pale tone that sits on a similar register to the linen and ceramic objects around it. Made for surfaces that need one defined area within them.
Beeswax wood polish
A blend of beeswax and linseed oil in a small tin. Applies with a cloth, buffs to a low-sheen matte finish. Works on oak, walnut, pine and most untreated woods. The smell is the material — warm and faintly sweet, not a fragrance addition.
Unbleached cotton tissue paper, 20 sheets
For wrapping, layering inside storage boxes, or padding fragile objects. The natural colour sits between cream and stone. No bleaching, no optical brighteners. The sheets have a slight texture visible in strong light.
Ceramic mug, tall
Tall proportion, modest handle, matte exterior glaze in a pale off-white with very faint warm undertone. Holds 280ml. The interior is the same glaze — not the common white interior with coloured exterior. Dishwasher safe, but best hand-washed.
Small linen drawstring bag
15×20cm, in natural linen, for storing objects that deserve a boundary. Bread, dried botanicals, jewellery in transit, a phone before bed. The drawstring is the same linen, unlined. No branding, no label on the exterior.
